/ Enterprise decommissioning
Retire fleets like grown-ups.
Spreadsheets, screenshots, 'we'll send the certs next week' — that's how enterprise device retirement runs at most companies, and it's how data leaks happen. Stenfox Orion gives IT, security and compliance leaders a single platform where every retired device leaves a signed, auditable trail from desk-side pickup to certified destruction.
What you get
Tie to fixed-asset register
Serial / IMEI / asset tag flows from your ITSM or asset register into Orion intake. No re-keying, no orphaned units.
1-click certificate
Per-device signed erasure cert pushed to the customer portal the second a wipe completes. Quarterly audit is a query, not a project.
Multi-site, multi-vendor
Run with one ITAD vendor or twelve. Orion normalises the trail across processors so security sees one record, not twelve PDFs.
Chain of custody
Pickup → transit → intake → diagnostic → erasure → disposition. Every leg stamped, signed and tied to the same record.
Resale value capture
AI cosmetic grading + diagnostic data + live pricing oracle → recover meaningful residual value rather than scrapping defaulting to zero.
SSO, SCIM, audit log
Okta / Azure AD SSO, SCIM provisioning, immutable audit log. Plays nicely with your existing security stack.

Frequently asked questions
How is Stenfox Orion different from Blancco enterprise or BitRaser for decommissioning?
Blancco enterprise and BitRaser solve only the wipe step on a managed endpoint — they don't grade the cosmetic condition, they don't broker resale, they don't normalise the chain of custody across multiple ITAD vendors. Orion delivers the wipe (NIST 800-88, signed certs) and unifies the upstream pickup logistics, downstream resale and audit reporting in one platform. Most enterprises consolidate two-to-three vendors onto Orion.
Can we run Orion ourselves or do we need an ITAD partner?
Both work. Some enterprises run Orion internally for in-house decommissioning (typical in regulated industries that can't ship devices off-site pre-wipe). Others use Orion through an ITAD partner. In partner deployments, security teams still get the customer portal showing every device's status and signed certificate.
How does Orion handle SOX and HIPAA audits?
Orion's signed certificate plus chain-of-custody record satisfies the disposal-control evidence both audits require. SOX teams use it to tie fixed-asset disposal to financial records; HIPAA covered entities use it to evidence ePHI destruction under 45 CFR §164.310(d)(2)(i). PCI-DSS retention controls use the same artifact.
Does Orion recover resale value or just destroy?
Both, based on the disposition rule per device class. Devices that have residual value (laptops under 4 years, recent iPhones) are AI-graded and routed to resale via Orion's marketplace APIs; older or damaged units route to certified recycling with destruction certificate. Most enterprises see resale recovery jump 20–40% vs. flat-fee ITAD contracts.
Will it work with our existing ITSM (ServiceNow, Jira)?
Yes. Orion offers REST + webhooks for ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Freshservice and Zendesk. Asset retirement tickets close automatically when the signed certificate is produced.
